“-Dear Gary and John,
I want to send you this note of thanks for the super job you did in upgrading my 2006 Allegro Bus. Now I can stop looking at new coaches, as no new coach comes with such advanced electronics as my coach now has:
Samsung 3D television --- which I did not know existed yet --- I thought it was coming sometime in the future, but now I have it.
Single Wire Integrated Management, which allows the bedroom TV to play programs recorded on the front DirecTV recorder, using only the one coax cable installed when the coach was built.
Smart TV --- It can go on line through WiFi or talk to my computer, tablet, or smart phone. I can plug a thumb drive into the Samsung surround sound and select an album of photos or a video to show on the big TV.
Co-pilot camera monitor --- This is my favorite upgrade. The monitor screen by the co-pilot seat can monitor all three cameras at the same time. This is so valuable when changing lanes or when traffic is entering and some foolish driver tries to pass the motor home on the inside lane and unexpectedly cuts in front of you. The driver can concentrate on driving while the co-pilot keeps an eye on all the traffic on the side and behind.
I am so pleased with the solid cherry TV cabinets that John built in the front and the bedroom. They look like original factory installation, but they are so much better. I like how them front TV is angled down 14 degrees for better viewing and the bedroom TV is mounted on a door that swings out, so that the original TV cabinet is now an extra closet.
Spending two weeks with you was an enjoyable experience and I learnt so much from you about electronics, about internet security, about routers, and how to securely crimp a small wire. We have tried your suggestions on restoring an aging finish on our cabinets. It worked and now the whole motor home looks so new on the inside.”

-“Dear Gary and Karen,
We want to thank you both for the wonderful job you did in updating our 2003 Alfa SeeYa motor home. As you know, we started with a plan for a flat panel TV conversion and associated cabinet work on our coach. Once we saw the quality of your work, the job became a complete front cabinet makeover, whole coach flat-panel TV system installation, satellite radio upgrade, puck light installation, power MCD shade installation, new wood window valances, new bedroom ceiling, and new 3-camera back-up system. While there, Gary also corrected many workmanship problems created in the original coach construction.
As you both have been RV owners for many years driving rigs of varied sizes, you are very knowledgeable and were very helpful in discussing design changes, yet always remembered it was our coach and you wanted us to be completely happy with the job. Gary is an amazing pro when it comes to electronics!
Your quality of workmanship on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 10. Pricing was very fair and less than other quotes we received.
We also need to praise the quality of your cabinetmaker, John’s, work. The cabinets and valances were made in such a way as to appear to be original installation from the factory, and not add-ons. Particular attention was paid to blending the finishes to achieve a factory-built look, and not a piece-meal effort.
Your shop is a custom shop that strives to give the RV owners what they want. Because of this, we learned to allow extra time when having work done. John also takes great pride in his work and will take the time needed to produce the best quality work as possible. Thus our RV was not a “rush job” but was done in a highly-professional manner.
It is good to note that while the customization takes time, the lovely area of Sevierville provides many opportunities to explore what the Smoky Mountains have to offer (Mark is diligently practicing his new dulcimer!). Parking on your property by the rushing stream while the work was being done and being able to stay in the coach with a water source, 50 amp service, and the availability to dump our septic system made our stay with you a truly enjoyable experience.
We highly recommend Custom Coach Connections in both your services and products, and we will definitely use you again for future customization.”

“-Hi Gary,
I want to tell you how much Marie and I are enjoying and appreciate what you did for us in our 06 coach. You removed our original 32 inch TV which did not have HD tuners, and replaced it with an up to date Samsung 48 inch Smart TV. The cabinet work this significant change in size required looks like it is the original stained cherry and matches the rest of our coach as does all the rest of the cabinet work you did. You also installed a Smart Samsung Blu-ray home entertainment playback unit and fixed our Surround Sound system so now everything including our satellite DirecTV tuner all work with one remote. The surround sound system (which never worked before) sounds great and we are enjoying it. We can’t wait to get together with our grandsons and try out the 3D features of the new smart Blu-ray unit and the TV. I also really like the control panel you designed and installed above my head when I am sitting in the driver’s seat. It has the controls for our new electric Bat Wing antenna, in-motion satellite TV antenna and over the air HD TV Sensar Pro pointing device. It perfectly matches the rest of the coach’s wood and looks great. I used it today after we were parked and acquired 35 OTA channels which we are now watching in HD. Your redesign of the kitchen area has Marie ecstatic. The dishwasher works great and is very quiet as does the new cooktop replacement you installed. We had tried to have two different facilities replace it with no luck-they both said it wasn’t available. The dishwasher along with the redesigned drawers looks like they were originally installed in the coach by Monaco. Not like what was actually done which was to totally remove all the original drawers and other wood
between the floor and the counter top and replace it. The new 40 inch wide drawer has all the ladies that Marie shows it too very envious. Good Luck to you and Karen as you transition from the 10+ years as Custom Coach Connection to your new endeavor (which did the work on our coach) of Smoky Mountain Coach Works.”

-Follow-up Letter from Dave and Marie:
“Just a note to bring you up to date on us. Since we left you we have traveled to Indiana, New York, down the east coast to Florida, Georgia, up the east coast to New York again, Boston, Denver, and now are at our winter hang out in Benson AZ till February till we hit the road again.
The purpose of the travelogue was to let you know the Winegard OTA, the Wilson Cellular enhancement and the Samsung TV/Home Stereo systems you installed have operated flawlessly in all locations and environments. We are presently using the park cable system with its mix of standard and high definition channels and enjoying it very much here in Benson. This is the first time we have used a park cable system since you corrected the old problems and enhanced it along with everything else.

We are also enjoying eating on regular plates after years of paper plates to avoid having to wash the regular ones. With the dishwasher you installed that is no longer an issue and we are sure the environment is enjoying the lack of paper waste as much as we are using the regular tableware. “

Dear Gary & Karen,

We were in the Great Smoky Mountains for 2 weeks enjoying beautiful weather, gorgeous scenery and just being. We had an issue with the bed. The gas struts for lifting had recently been replaced, but the support board had a warp in it that torqued even more with the stress of new struts. Regular RV Mobile services are not going to deal with this kind of thing, and they didn't in that area either. But....we found a great company in the foothills near Sevierville, TN that was just what we needed!! These restoration and remodeling companies are few and far, but here it was within 30 minutes! They considered it an emergency as it kept us from traveling, and fit us in immediately for repair! We waited in our camp chairs in the driveway, enjoying Autumn in the Smokies while they fixed it better than new! And, it was reasonable! So here's a shout out for Smoky Mountain Coach Works and owner Gary Swaim and Service Mgr. Tony. Thanks to them for getting us taken care of, their hospitality and excellent work. They do it all there, so consider talking to them if you are looking to upgrade or make some changes to your RV!
